Vivian Zou is a Consultant with the USA China Law Group.

Ms. Zou has three years of experience as in-house legal counsel with a Chinese company in the manufacturing industry. As legal counsel, Ms. Zou drafted and reviewed transactional contracts with Chinese suppliers and advised the management group on developing strategies and programs for licensing, distribution and joint R&D projects in China.

Ms. Zou also worked as a litigation attorney in New York City for three years. As a litigator, she managed cases, beginning with the filing of complaints to the end of trials to acting as lead counsel for multiple insurance companies and injured parties in at least 30 trials. Ms. Zou regularly argued appellate briefs in the New York Appellate Term. One of the appellate briefs she drafted was incorporated into the Appellate Term’s decision cited in Westlaw. Dan medical P.C. v. New York Central Mutual Fire Insurance Co., 2006 NYSlipOp 26483.

While studying at one of China’s most prestigious law schools, the Sun Yat-sen University School of Law, Ms. Zou began her legal career in the Supreme Court of Guangdong Province, where she worked as a part-time court attorney on corporate dissolution, bankruptcy, international commercial and anti-dumping issues. She received a full scholarship from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law in 2001 and came to the U.S. for education and work thereafter.

Ms. Zou is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
